This month’s theme was "Retirement." It is undoubtedly one of life's major milestones. During our discussion, some shared that they felt a sense of loss after leaving their jobs and titles behind. On the other hand, others expressed a feeling of relief, being finally freed from a stress-filled career. Working two or three days a week is nice choice, since it lets people ease out of work gradually.
Since household chores never truly have a retirement day, the conversations gave me an impression that redistributing domestic roles within family members may not be easy. When it comes to how people spend the time, many pointed to hobbies, lifelong learning, and volunteering—making it clear that the Tomonkai (Waseda Alumni Association) plays a vital role in supporting these pursuits. Above all, my seniors mentioned that health management is the key, and that you live good each day.
